Daniel Wyche is a Chicago-based guitarist, composer and improviser. Working with a wide range of physical preparations, extended techniques, and pedal instruments, his solo recorded work and live performances are characterized by long-form structured improvisations. He has been a curator with the Elastic Arts Foundation in Chicago since 2013, and co-founded the Quarantine Concerts at Chicago’s Experimental Sound Studio in 2020. Along with his solo guitar work, Daniel is involved in several ongoing collaborations, most notable the trio of Wyche, Mark Shippy, and Ben Baker Billington. TALsounds (Hausu Mountain | Chicago, IL) is the lush, synthesizer-driven, ambient project of Natalie Chami (Goodwill Smith.) Equipped with an organic mix of ethereal loops and interstellar arpeggiation, Chami explores the vast light and darkness of the universe with a hauntingly beautiful vocal caress. www.talsounds.com/
Ejjing emerged from the bleakest stretch of the long pandemic winter. Emma Cleveland and Jonathan Williger spent January of 2021 making droning sounds from whatever was at hand - from organ, violin and cello to spatulas, tin whistles, and vibrators. They’ll be exploring similar zones at Rhizome this spring. instagram.com/ejjingdc
